The 13th IFATSEA ARM 2023 was held in Livingstone, Zambia from 13-16 June 2023. The meeting was hosted by the Zambia Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (ZATSEA) and was attended by over 70 delegates from all over Africa.

The theme of the meeting was "Sustainable Civil Aviation Transformation through ATSEP Solutions". ATSEPs are air traffic safety electronics professionals who play a critical role in ensuring the safety of air travel.

The meeting discussed a number of important topics, including the development of an ATSEP licensing template for Africa, the introduction of English and French translation at all Africa Region Meetings, regional collaboration on the introduction of drones for flight inspections, the establishment of research and development (R&D), and defining ATSEP training levels and responsibilities between aviation training organizations (ATOs) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

The meeting was a success and provided a valuable opportunity for ATSEPs from across Africa to share ideas and best practices. It also gave Zambia the opportunity to learn from other aviation stakeholders and pick up lessons that would be key for the enhancement of the aviation industry in Zambia.

In conclusion, the 13th IFATSEA ARM 2023 was a resounding success. The lessons learned at the ARM will be key to enhancing the aviation industry in Zambia.
